Sharing Christ With The World!
Good afternoon Pastor Derek, I attended your church around 2002. My husband Kevin works for the prision. I’m contacting you because I am looking for the name of the series of books we used in Sunday school. They were studies of entire books. I am studying the book of Isaiah and I remember how helpful that particular study guide was. I looked on cbs.com there are so many different “brands” I couldn’t locate it. I thought I would give it a shoot and see if someone there knows. Your help is greatly appeciated.
Hi Tracey – it is great to hear from you. Please tell Kevin and the kids that I said “hello.” The Bible study books we use for Sunday school are from http://www.lifeway.com and from http://www.davidccook.com. Both are excellent resources, so I’m not sure which one we were using in 2002. I think that you will find what you are looking for at one of those two websites. Let me know if you can’t find what you’re looking for!
My name is John Robinson, and while a college student, I served as a summer missionary with your church in 1983. While serving as a youth minister in Tennessee over the years following, we came and did some projects with you during the 80’s and early 90’s. I just stumbled across this website, and it filled me with great memories of my time there. 1983 was my first experience with any kind of “missions” project, and it influenced me for the rest of my life. For the past 19+ years, I’ve been serving as a career missionary with the International Mission Board, SBC, and I really see the beginnings of that journey tied to your church/ministry. I suppose I just wanted to write to see how you were doing, say “thank you,” and to let you know that I’m thinking about/praying for you as you continue to serve the Kingdom there in Lake Placid.
I was one of the Carpenters for Christ from Rome,Georgia that came in 1982 or 1983 to help build your church. Was just seeing how it turned out. We put a patch with our signatures under the pulpit and I hope it is still there. I know that you are doing wonderful things for the Lord. I have pictures when we built it if you would like them. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
I was a summer missionary during the summer of 1983, while you all were there, and I helped a bit with your group. I remember the Carpenters for Christ well.
