PRAISE REPORT! We have received approval from the bank to move forward with a mortgage.
We are in the process of finalizing all documents and hope to sign the mortgage papers in September 2014.

Stepping out on faith is what we do here at Lake Placid Baptist Church. We are a small church that does big ministry in our community.  True to the Olympic heritage in our region, outreach includes World Cup events, Ironman triathlons and other large events hosted locally.  With our faith in Jesus, we have impacted people all over the world who travel to Lake Placid for competition, adventure, and leisure.

The Hope

The LPBC leadership and members strongly believe that this investment is necessary.  We recognize that for our senior pastor to be effective in outreach and ministry within our community, he and his family need to live in our community.

In a village population of 2,638, the average home cost is $363,606 (2009).  In addition, due to the popularity of our little village as a vacation destination, long-term rental property is almost non-existent.

With all these facts in mind, and knowing that we are the only church in the community that does not offer housing for our senior pastor, we have taken a step of faith to purchase a home on 52 Acorn Street.

The Prayer
We ask for you to join us in prayer to meet our goal to own the house by 2014.  We have entered a two year lease agreement that allows our pastor to rent until October 2014.

Along with providing housing for our pastor, this home will also complement our current ministry in many ways:

  • New location for small group meetings and Bible studies
  • Attached one-bedroom apartment can serve as temporary housing for athletes and international students
  • Pastoral retreat for couples in full-time ministry

If you feel called to give to the Ministry House Fund, please contact us (518) 523-2008.
